Artworks

An artist since childhood, Katherine began with crayons and has since worked with a variety of media including glass, paint, pencil, pastel, metal, paper, and wood, fabric to design clothes, as well as precious and semiprecious stones and metals for jewelry and mixed media works. While working in the inner city for six years, she created a series of hammer-smashed colored glass designs set in a mosaic fashion on wood to document her travels and inspirations between the worlds of high fashion and entertainment glamour and challenging inner city education as well as locations between New York and Paris, and social entrepreneurship work with countries like Jordan through the United Nations Girls Education Initiative. Numerous international flags, rainbow designs, and decoupage on wood are some of the variety of pieces of this series. A selection of this art and jewelry work was featured at an exhibition in a gallery in Barcelona.
