Our story makes us unique.
Katherine's unusual journey runs the gamut from fashion runways to developing nations. It is her keen understanding of how to create and inspire, as well as uphold high standards of excellence and purpose that makes each design special.
We are committed to sourcing only high-quality raw materials with integrity. Precious and semiprecious stones and high quality metals of pristine values are rare and uncommon. We value traceability and the importance of knowing the origin of our stones from the moment they are discovered in the mine, and throughout their journey and into your jewelry. That’s why, to start with, our stones are vetted and only sourced from countries through strict standards. One of our partners is Turquoise Mountain, a renown non-governmental organization dedicated to transparency and artisan community support. We only source quality stones and work with artisans and organizations we trust. We build long-term relationships across the supply chain to create stability and success for all. We also strongly believe in investing in the local communities in which we operate through local hiring and sponsorship of scholarships for girls in communities.
We believe beautiful and meaningful jewelry starts with responsibly sourcing high-quality materials and continues through the creation of the final piece of jewelry. We source our stones from vendors we know. We are devoted to better understanding the social and economic impact of the sourcing and processing of stones and metals so that we can create positive change along the supply chain, all the way from the origin of raw materials to our customers.
We strongly believe that a successful company has a responsibility to the greater community. Katherine Parr has a long history of charitable giving and has begun this organization to bring meaningful inspiration to others. We are proud of our actions toward supporting nonprofit organizations in regions where we have worked, including Turquoise Mountain in Kabul, Afghanistan and the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Cape Town, South Africa. We sponsor scholarships for girls in the primary school in Kabul, Afghanistan through the leadership of Turquoise Mountain. In addition to benefitting people and communities through our business operations, we’re supporting the local communities in which we operate through our giving programs to charities in New York City. As we continue to expand our business, we hope to expand our partnerships with charitable organizations as well.
Our company is only as strong as our team, and we prioritize building and nurturing a culture of excellence across our operations. From the artisans who handle the production of Katherine's designs, the small business artisans of our partner Turquoise Mountain, who provide the first quality control at the Turquoise Mountain facility in Kabul, to our team of craftspeople in New York City's Diamond District and our intern, we are proud of our team and know that they share our collective values of respect, inclusiveness, excellence and responsibility. We value diversity and inclusion because we believe each of our employees can make a unique contribution to our company and the Katherine Parr brand. We recognize each individual’s knowledge and skills as an important source of organizational capability and competitive advantage and do our best that they receive the support they need to maximize their potential. Through the leadership of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we are advancing our longstanding commitment to reducing poverty, economic growth, human rights, partnerships, and diversity and inclusion to help ensure equal opportunities for everyone to reach their full potential in the workplace.
